Stretching Boundaries
Bronze Resin, Marble, Hardwood

This dynamic handstand is called a hollow-back; the sculpture celebrates the curve of the back as it flexes and supports the legs in this extreme pose.  One of Emma's friends from Capoeira helped her as a reference for this pose, thank you to Sunny G.   This handstand is also practiced in yoga.

H:46 x L:26 x D:17cm
Edition of 20

The figure is mounted on a marble base that is mounted on a wooden plinth. The title is burnt into the wooden plinth using pyrography. The marble base can be easily detached from the wooden plinth, so that you can adjust the height to fit  your chosen display place, eg on a mantle piece.  The height of sculpture with only marble base is 25.5cm.
